About Us.... The British Show Pony Society
Founded in October 1949 the British Show Pony Society is the Premier Showing Society in the United Kingdom. The membership is divided into 24 franchised Areas around the country which organise regional shows, training days, points parties and social events.
Whether you own or ride a Show Pony, Show Hunter Pony, Working Hunter Pony or Mountain and Moorland (adult riders included) the BSPS is for you!
The B.S.P.S is unique within the showing world in that the country is divided into areas. These areas have recently all become limited companies, with their own board of directors. Any money held by the area belongs to that area and can no longer be called in by Head Office.
The Society offers three quality, well run Championship Shows each year; the Winter Championships, the Summer Championships and Heritage Championships. Membership enables you to qualify and complete at the prestigious Royal International Horse Show, The Horse of the Year Show, The London International Horse Show and Olympia.
Area 9B covers Gloucester, Bristol, Bath and North Somerset and put on various shows each year, which includes classes for show ponies, show hunter ponies, working hunter ponies, intermediates and mountain and moorland ponies as well as qualifiers for the BSPS Championship Shows, The Royal International and Olympia.
